Are You Serious About Success? If So, It Depends On You

The reality of success extends much further than connections or opportunity. All the benefits in the world can’t overcome a weak mental frame.
Therefore, a “character” game plan is vital. Your potential and achievements are parallel, neither one exceeding the other. But each can be extended (or diminished) based on your personal development.
The traits listed below, typify the internal work necessary for making your dreams a reality.
DETERMINATION Are you serious about success? If you are, skip the clichés and memorable quotes. Success is this simple; find something you like, and master it. Period. Cut out distractions and push hard. Focus on your goals and keep everything else in perspective. If you give 100%, nothing can stop you.
FEARLESSNESS When you are “real,” being fearless is easy. Self- serving talk and “extra” behavior is unnecessary. Your character will speak for itself. But you must take the first step. Fear never goes away, so there is never a “right time” to realize your potential. Stop waiting for help that will never come. Seek challenges. You can never go wrong by trying, and will only succeed through your efforts.
LEADERSHIP Whether you want business success, or to manage your household, you must be a leader. True leadership is essential for improving your life – and it starts with you. Develop internal strength by clarifying your goals and values. Do not be swayed by the opinions of others. Stand your ground. Move forward with confidence and others will recognize your power, gravitating to you for guidance and insight. But even if you standalone, you will be fine. Such is the resolve that becoming a leader can bestow.
PATIENCE Patience is imperative. If cultivated, your internal strength will seem superhuman. Hold firm to your truth and observe others broken by everyday living. A powerful man does not bend to circumstances. This starts by resisting the temptation to blindly react. Measure your responses by fine-tuning your emotional process. Growth in this area will lead to insight far beyond the obvious.
PEOPLE SKILLS If you cannot get along with people, it will limit your opportunities. Why? Because achievement is not solitary. Contrary to what people think, teamwork is an integral part of success. If you have goals, there is no such thing as going it alone. Every winner has a team, which includes trusted advisors. Of all the talents necessary for success, interpersonal skills are vital. If you are struggling in this area, work hard to improve your social IQ. Your efforts will be the difference between living your dreams or just dreaming.
By making these traits an integral part of your character, you will free yourself from negative thinking and self-sabotaging behavior, which is the only way to reach your potential.
So stop waiting and make success a habit.
Take care,
Gary

The Indulged – What A Waste!

If you want to kill a person’s ambition and make them weak, indulge them.
For maximum effect, start young.
I should know.
Misguidedly, my family thought they were protecting me from the struggles of “real” life by never making me accountable when in actuality they were undermining my confidence and motivation. (I was going nowhere fast.)
This resulted in years of difficult personal relationships, self-indulgence and underachievement, requiring a herculean effort on my part to recognize my potential (value) and develop it.
Today I’m grown and have come to terms with my upbringing, having become my own person. So this isn’t about blame. I’m way beyond that. It’s about experience.
Having been there and done that, makes my resolve unshakeable, and has nothing to do with mysticism or the esoteric. (You can’t gain wisdom from books and gurus.) I discovered know who am and took complete responsibility for my life.
Being a graduate from the school of hard knocks, there’s not much I haven’t seen in human nature. Therefore, I’m no longer moved by the feelings and preferences of others.
I’m secure in my decisions and liable for my actions, whether it’s in my personal or professional lives.
My understanding is grounded in reality, giving me hard-earned wisdom, which I’ll never relinquish – for any price (no joke). There’s deep security that comes from knowing and seeing things as they are while being able to deal with situations appropriately.
This is especially important when creating a legacy for yourself based on personal influence.
If you’re able to influence young people, you must lead them down the path of independence. It doesn’t matter if they’re your children or not, don’t baby and spoil them.
This is destructive and more about your fears than helping others.
Don’t hide the truth; let others take the hard walk to self-determination. It’s a perilous journey, but the only rational choice.
Therefore, you must free yourself first.
Give yourself permission to drop the fears and twisted thinking that’s holding you back. Let reality be your guide.
By living your truth, you’ll inspire others to live theirs.
Yours,
Craig

Get A 360 Perspective!

The ability to accurately discern information is vital.
A lack of sensitivity in this area, and the blind internalization of input, can be disastrous for your overall well-being.
Irrespective of how much self-work you’ve done, or bold steps towards improvement you’ve taken, don’t stagnate.
You must always expand your perceptual reach. (It’s the only rational choice, given that your mind informs your actions.)
So you must thoughtfully process the experiences that comprise your world and effectively utilize what you find.
This denotes 360 awareness.
You must develop clarity that goes far beyond striving for “things” and instead focus on mindfully experiencing your feelings.
When you engage people to learn to really feel, hear and see them. Avoid enmeshment. Remain detached, yet very much present to the particular experience unfolding.
This sensitivity won’t spare you from the vicissitudes of life (nothing can except death).
But it will help you develop the requisite insight and resolve to appropriately respond to individuals and circumstances. Further, you to bring positive energy to often critical situations.
This epitomizes living in the light, and what could be more fulfilling?
Get 360 and live your truth.

A Prayer

Sometimes we all need inspiration. This prayer is my contribution.
I strive each day to be the best I can be, living as my greatest self, offering love and understanding in appreciation for the powerful intellect, wisdom, creativity and heath that the universe has given to me.
Take care,

Why Do You Care?

The questions below are designed to move busybodies and gossips away from other people’s business, and put the focus where it belongs – on themselves.
Why do you care if someone:
Makes more money than you?
Is getting married or divorced?
Lost or gained weight?
Has curly or straight hair?
Is or isn’t attractive (a relative term)?
Is rich or poor?
Believes in God?
Is an atheist?
Wears clothes you like (or don’t like)?
Is black, white or other?
Doesn’t agree with you (about anything)?
Is short or tall?
Doesn’t validate your goals?
Eats food you don’t like (or like)?
Doesn’t share your beliefs?
Is or isn’t dating?
Has pets?
Went on a vacation?
Are friends with a person you despise?
Doesn’t know you exist?
These are my examples. Now create your list, and be honest! The only way you can grow is by consistently taking an inventory of yourself, making positive changes when necessary.
Forget everything else; it’s time to live your dreams!
Now that’s something to care about.
Take care,
Gary
